Wines

Our wines are distinguished by varietal specificities, although they are united by terroir and the hand of the grower. Brda is recognizable in its minerality, full body and dominant fruit notes, while the varietal character is expressed in the details that give the wine bouquet sometimes a herbal, sometimes a floral touch, which is also noticeable in the taste, which can recall ripe fruit, compotes and even jam, or remain seriously distinctive and above all – wine. The aftertaste of all wines is long, pleasant, but varietally different, so that freshness or perfect maturity can be more pronounced. Each is slightly different, none is subordinate to the others, convincing with an independent appearance, which at the same time invites you to get to know all of Zalatel’s wines.

Wines with an emphasis on freshness and the search for varietal specificities. The wines are recognizable by their minerality and full body with a still light bouquet, in which fruity notes dominate. The wines are mostly matured in stainless steel tanks, thus ensuring varietal perception and plenty of freshness, some of them were additionally aged in oak barrels.

Hruševlje, the village where our homestead, cellar and most of our vineyards are located. Years ago, due to the presence of Italy, the village received the name CURSÒ. This very name now adorns the label of our wines. They are produced from grapes of the highest quality, from selected vineyard sites and are perfected with precision and softness in wooden barrels. Grapes from the best vineyards are grown individually under the single vineyard label and they directly express the properties and characteristics of the vineyard itself.

As a tribute to the previous generations, who took great care of the homestead and vineyards that we still cultivate today, our sparkling wine received the name de Onesti. It is produced according to the classic method with secondary fermentation in the bottle. The sparkling wine matures in the bottles for at least 24 months before leaving our cellar.
